Known limitations

We would rather tell you the rough edges up front. Here is the current, honest list.

What to expect

  • On-device dialogue can under-format. A line of speech that runs into narration, or a short unattributed reply, may not get quoted on the on-device engine. It leaves text alone rather than adding wrong quotes; the Cloud (Pro) engine handles these cases.
  • A cosmetic capitalization glitch. After some spoken commands a following word can keep a stray capital. It is harmless, and the cloud cleanup fixes it.
  • No streaming insertion. Text lands when you release the key, not as you speak.
  • Secure fields are not guarded yet. Password boxes fall through to paste; type credentials by hand. See Supported apps.
  • English is what we have tested. Other languages are not part of the current release.
  • The menu-bar icon can be hidden by a full menu bar; use the pill.
  • The dialogue engine uses memory while running. Its first request after launch takes a couple of seconds to warm up, and it holds a few gigabytes of RAM until you quit.

None of these put your words at risk — Murmurtale's guards keep bad output out of your manuscript and keep your audio recoverable. If you hit something not listed here, please let us know.
