Murmurtale Where it works
Murmurtale inserts text using macOS accessibility, which works in the great majority of standard text fields — word processors, browsers, chat apps, notes, and code editors. Writers use it comfortably in apps like TextEdit, Pages, Scrivener, and browser-based editors.
When an app does not accept accessibility typing, Murmurtale falls back to pasting the text (as if you pressed Command-V). You can also force pasting for every app in Preferences → Insert method.
Secure fields and passwords
macOS marks password boxes and similar inputs as secure fields, which reject accessibility typing by design. In those cases Murmurtale's insertion falls through to the paste path.
Type passwords by handMurmurtale does not yet detect or refuse secure fields on its own — a built-in guard is planned but not shipped. Until it is, dictate prose, and enter passwords and other secrets with the keyboard. Never dictate a credential.
Insertion timing
Text is inserted when you release the key, not word-by-word as you speak. The pill gives you live feedback (levels and word count) while you hold. Streaming text into the field as you talk is not part of the current release.
